A brand identity and booking website for a chain of luxury villas, shipped in three months.
Brief
After studying Graphic Design at Shillington College, I teamed up with a talented classmate to design and ship digital products. Our first brief was to create a brand identity, web and social presence for Tamarind Villas, a chain of luxury villas.
Outcome
We created a fresh identity for Tamarind Villas, covering everything from the interior design to the website — contributing to a 35% increase in bookings and a 42% increase in profit.
My role
On this project I focussed on building the website, and was responsible for visual design, interaction design and brand identity.

Increase in bookings.
Increase in profit.
01A logo that's also a visual pun
We worked with the villas' owner to develop a brand story that set the direction for the identity. For the logo, we drew inspiration from Herb Lubalin and created a visual pun — the mark reflects both a tamarind tree and the letter T, for Tamarind Villas. I used After Effects to animate the tree growing and spreading its leaves, and we extended the identity into branded merchandise provided to each guest in their villa.

02Shipping the site in three months
While building the brand identity, I set the tone of voice and produced copy for both the website and social channels. We built the site on Squarespace and integrated a booking system so Tamarind Villas could take direct bookings, and — in the interest of time and cost — I ran guerrilla user testing on the website to gather feedback and iterate quickly. We launched the site and its booking system within three months of receiving the brief.
